For five decades IPS CORPORATION has continually redefined the state of the art of plumbing. Our products are recognized for their labor saving efficiency, thoughtful convenience and neat appearance.
1954: IPS
® developed the first solvent welding products for America’s plumbing industry, establishing a new standard for drain, waste and vent systems. One could say, IPS is responsible for the 40-year success enjoyed by plastic piping industry.
1969: IPS
introduced the first plastic washing machine box which was so well received by the industry, it has been widely imitated by other manufacturers. It is, in some form a standard fixture in virtually every home built in America today.
1978: IPS
introduced the first ice maker box which recessed the supply valve in the wall.
1987: IPS
introduced the first adjustable, multi-size residential roof vent flashings. This conveniently minimizes the roofer’s inventory by eliminating the need for single-sized roof flashings for each vent pipe diameter on the job.
1992: IPS
® in response to growing air quality concerns, was first to formulate a line of LOW VOC solvent welding products. While we are no longer alone in the LOW VOC market, our line is complete and preferred by the industry’s leading professionals.
1995: IPS
introduced the Angle Stop Box and The Dimple which should revolutionize plumbing supply/drain system fundamentals, by reducing up to 23 labor steps associated with stubbing-out and angle-stopping, to only 8 steps.
1998: IPS
introduced the Right Strap. Right Strap provides a “Silence Gap” between tubing and framing…thus reducing the noise generated when water supply tubing expands and rubs against wood with other half clamps.
1998: IPS
acquired Studor, Inc. in Dunedin, FL. Sture Ericson developed the air admittance valve in Sweden in the early 1970s. The valve was introduced in the United States in 1986 as the Studor Air Admittance System, specifically the Mini-Vent® and the Maxi-Vent®. These innovative products have greatly simplified drainage and waste venting in commercial and residential applications.
1999: IPS
® opened the Structural Adhesives Division in Durham, NC. IPS creates advanced, two-component methacrylate adhesives that bond metals, plastics and other materials in a broad range of demanding transportation, marine and industrial applications.
2000: IPS
acquired the Guy Gray Box Line. Guy Gray was established in 1958 by Guy L Gray. Guy Gray was founded on the principles of quality, reliability, and integrity. IPS continues that commitment today.
2002: IPS
acquired Buchen, Inc (TEST-TITE) in Chaska, MN. Buchen is an experienced manufacturer of pipe plugs, bypass plugs, air test plugs and accessories used for testing, plugging and bypassing plumbing and sewer lines.
